03 - Chinese Acquire Hungry Ghosts
Lyrics:
You came back today
with more bad advice
sell the farm
purchase paradise

You've been here before
You never tell me why
You strut and sell
Important stuff to try

CHORUS
Lay off Hungry Ghost!
Disappear, get out of here
Go around the corner
don't come back

Part my hair on the right
Make myself smell right
Your car travels thru the air
You get a bigger bite

I was behind him one fine day
When he was making rounds
His Presidential face
Trailed an awful sound

CHORUS

What happened to my noon time nap
My ears are filled with wax
No dreams, so tired
Remember: pay your tax

I picked up an old wood bat
Hit him with it twice
Delicious to connect
Off to China for some spice

CHORUS

Go around the corner
don't come back

Release notes
Reid's lyrical beginning, having to do with the concept in Buddhism - the Hungry Ghost who gobbles up your soul - and the hope that Western Capitalism could shed some of it's greed ... perhaps to the Chinese, who at the time seemed so ready to take it on. I loved adding the verses about politicians and big shots.

The little C/D riff ('overcoming') came late as spice.
