S10 - snow on the sill - collab
Lyrics:
Snow on the sill mutters
“Spring will bring rain
You will wake up”

Up from a deep, dark shelter
Dreams predict
Love's return

Who’ll lift the blinds?
We hope the world
Isn’t mooning us from outside

The slow rise from hibernation
Throws the covers
Off our heart’s pain

Awake, calm moments
Are flooded when
Embankments are topped

Now summer's almost gone
Let’s reset the alarm
To sleep again

A far cry from Gene Pitney, who inspired Pete Murphy to pen the original and lovely lyrics titled Hibernating Hearts.

I'm a three line kind of guy, and couldn't resist re-casting the lyrics and going slow and low.

AHH - so good and calm! I love how you play the guitar here - so clear and "simple".
Love also the wonderful haikus.
Really enjoyed this little masterpiece!

Pete Murphy is the one who first told me about FAWM, so I will always love him. Great, concise lyrics with light touches of humor (the mooning). Narration fits well, as does the slow strums of the guitar (is it the baritone? sounds rich and deep).

This is great. Your words are sublime, they create a truly magical space in my head (and, of course, I hope the world's not mooning us is funny - in a lovely way). Your delivery and arrangement lift your creation to a whole new level.

What a cool spoken word song. The words carry a lot of gravitas and the guitar brings out the mood of unrelenting passage of time. Great moody atmospheric piece.
